Olga Kononenko
English-speaking Psychotherapist in Kyiv, PhD
Therapy is a collaborative process. So you and I will create an individualized approach. We’ll work together to overcome the obstacles you may be facing.
Work experience: since 1996
Session Format: Couple, Individual, Group
Age Specialty: Children: ages 5 thorough 12 (experiencing emotional, behavioral, or developmental problems), Pre-teens, Adolescents, Adults, The Elderly
Treatment Approach: Multimodal: cognitive behavioral therapy, transactional analysis, relaxation techniques, pharmacotherapy .
Approach Description in General: I believe in offering empathy, and being supportive in order to promote better understanding of yourself, and others. My approach seeks to promote more satisfying relationships, to overcome blockages to success, to eliminate self-defeating behaviors, and to experience greater pleasure in life. I feel strongly that the therapist should not be cold or removed. Therefore you will find me engaged and attentive.
Cognitive behavioral therapy description: CBT is a type of interactive talk therapy. The cognitive model is based on the strong relationship between our thinking and emotions. Dysfunctional thinking(which influences our mood and behavior) is common to all psychological disturbances. When people learn to evaluate their thinking in a more realistic and adaptive way, they experience improvement in their emotional states and in their behavior.
Duration of session: 45 min, 60 min, 90 min (reflecting your needs)
